About
I’ve struggled to work out what to put on this blog. I’ve looked around the place and seen everything from people writing thousands of words of interesting (and not so interesting) prose to people obviously setting up a google alert and copying stuff from these other places to their blog (in)frequently.
I’ve been probably closer to the latter for a while now, when a thought hit me… I read a vast amount of different things on the ‘net. Some are really interesting and some are not, however most I have an opinion about… so, in the vain of Rense.com and whatreallyhappened.com, I’m going to aggregate some of these news and blog sources I use regularly, just provide a link (in the form of an image of the site) and write some commentary about the post.
For things I know something about, I’ll state that or try to provide information about the topic and for those I just have an opinion on, I’ll try to also state that.
I hope you like and enjoy the new format, and I hope it’s a darned sight more interesting than previous posts!
About me:
I’ve been working in Microsoft Systems Management and enterprise computing systems for the last 15 years, initially consulting to large financial organisations in the UK and US and then running an independent consulting company in Australia.
In Jan 2000, I joined Microsoft in consulting and worked to remediate the SMS 2.0 disaster. This got me a job in Redmond as program manager on the SMS 2003 team. I moved from there to building Microsoft Solutions, specifically around BDD and MOM.
I moved back to Australia and set up and ran a successful independent consulting organizations called Bellerephon Group which was acquired by Dimension Data in 2005. At Dimension Data, I established a set of extremely successful solutions, winning Microsoft Technology Innovation Partner of the year in 2006 and runner up in 2007.
My contract with Dimension Data has concluded and I am currently setting up two startups, one is a Web 2.0 infrastructure for membership based organizations where we are attempting to provide extremely high ITIL maturity in operations and the second automating the creation of design, deployment and operational documentation for Microsoft Systems Management deployment, integration and upgrade projects.
I regularly get to speak at Microsoft events in Australia, Asia Pacific, Europe and South Africa.
I’m 35 and live with my wife and four kids in Sydney, Australia.
