[Link] How to add an Entry to the hosts file on OSX. Recently, I had to modify the hosts file on my macbook pro. I needed to access a server by a name I was going to enter into DNS in the future. For those of you who don’t know, the hosts file maps computer names to IP addresses, a function commonly performed by a DNS Server; however if you need to do it manually on OSX, follow the link above, on Windows edit %SystemRoot%\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts,
